DUII in Two States
The defendant was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving. The charges arose after law enforcement received phone calls of a motorist driving erratically. The defendant was subsequently stopped and charged with Driving Under the Influence. The defendant had a prior DUI conviction from another state. The defendant pled to DUII and was placed on misdemeanor probation and ordered to do community work service.
From the outside this looked, more or less, like a typical DUII case. However, the situation was complicated because my client was arrested for driving under the influence in two different states just days apart. There was some strategy employed to keep my client's exposure minimal while trying to resolve the case in an expedited and favorable fashion. We were able to achieve all of that.
