"This case was tough but not for the reasons one would expect. My client admitted to the police that there had been some money taken from the victim. However, I believed that the police may have obtained the admission illegally. After discussing the case with the District Attorney my client was offered to plea to a single misdemeanor count and the others would be dismissed. My client was remorseful for her behavior and did not want to litigate the issue of the potentially illegally obtained admission. Ultimately my client accepted the State's offer and resolved the case. Considering the circumstances, bench probation, some community service, payment of victim restitution, and no jail time was a good outcome to the case."
